Grac*e-mail for 04/12/10
got grace?

Thanks to "faithful few" who have sent words of encouragement lately for me start sending out mailings… again.  You never how much a few words sent by e-mail can mean.  I recently went back and looked over some of the e-mails I received over the years of folks who were touched by Grac*e-mail… always better to feed those who want to be fed and leave the others to God!

Haha…

A herring that for many years swam along with a friendly whale appeared one day without its companion.

Asked where the whale was, the herring replied: "How would I know? Am I my blubber's kipper?"

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word  Guidance,

I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word  Guidance.

When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".

"God, "u" and "i" dance."

God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

that I would get  guidance about my life..

Once again, I became willing to let God lead...

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings

and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God   abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.

A joke my Dad sent to me…
A teacher was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a compass, a slide-rule and a calculator.
At a morning press conference, the Attorney General said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.
'"Al-Gebra is a problem for us," the Attorney General said. "They derive solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in search of absolute values." They use secret code names like 'X' and 'Y' and refer to themselves as "unknowns", but we have determined that they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.
As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'There are 3 sides to every triangle'.
When asked to comment on the arrest, President Obama said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, he would have given us more fingers and toes." White House aides told reporters they could not recall a more intelligent or profound statement by the President. It is believed that the Nobel Prize for Physics will follow.

Got this from the "Pearls" mailing list.  To receive, just sent Larry Burrows a request at larryb1939@sbcglobal.net

Sometimes God says, "Wait."  When He does, His intent is always that He would become more precious to you than during the waiting than if he had said "Yes" immediately.

This is the beginning of an blog I read recently…

Last week Gayle Haggard's new book hit bookstores. While the story and aftermath of Ted Haggard's scandal involving a male escort has been adequately covered, her perspective has not been heard . . . until now.

Her book, "Why I Stayed: The Choices I Made in My Darkest Hour", gives a gut-wrenchingly honest account of how she discovered her husband's infidelity. "My heart skipped a beat when I heard the serious tone in his voice," she writes. "I felt the life begin to drain from my body. I sat down across from Ted at the attorney's conference table, and as I looked at him, I saw that his expression had changed. This was not the confident man who had entered the building with me only a few moments before. This man's face had contorted with anguish. I sat stunned in my chair as Ted looked at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen on his face." He responded, "It's true - not all of it, but part of it, enough of it."

Got this Reid Broce…

I asked God to take away my habit. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God  to give me happiness. God  said, No. I  give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I  asked God to spare me pain. God  said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me. God  said.... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
